UU Congregations in Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia
The UU Congregations in Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia is a regional marketing campaign for Unitarian Universalist congregations. To assist the campaign's efforts to raise awareness of Unitarian Universalism in the region, Welcoming Websites developed a Drupal website with a custom design, search-engine friendly URLs, integrated social networking links, and a Google map of member congregations. The project also featured the creation of a similar website for the Unitarian Universalists of the Capital Region of New York using Drupal's unique multi-site feature.
First Parish in Cambridge, Unitarian Universalist
First Parish in Cambridge is a multifaith, spirit-filled congregation devoted to love and justice. Welcoming Websites has provided First Parish in Cambridge with pro-bono web development assistance since the company was established in 2007. The website features a flexible, Panels-based layout system, a robust calendar, a newsletter and semon archive, and a workspace for committees to post documents in order to communicate efficiently with members.
Liberal Religious Educators Association (LREDA)
LREDA is a professional organization serving Unitarian Universalist religious educators and others supportive of liberal religious education. Welcoming Websites migrated LREDA's website to Drupal 6, and developed innovative features to facilitate membership data import, chapter and committee directories, and online payments for event registration.
Unitarian Universalist Association
Welcoming Websites created the "Standing on the Side of Love" video for the Unitarian Universalist Association, to celebrate the association's longstanding commitment to marriage equality. This short video showcases photographs of Unitarian Universalist congregations participating in marriage ceremonies and demonstrating for marriage equality. The display of images is set to the song "Standing on the Side of Love," written by Jason Shelton and sung by Jeannie Gagné.
Unitarian Universalist Church of Fairfax
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF) was gathered in 1955 as a liberal religious community dedicated to the free and responsible search for religious truth and meaning. It is a diverse congregation of more than 1,100 adults, youth, and children. Welcoming Websites migrated UUCF's website to Drupal 6, and supported the congregation's efforts to reach visitors and communicate with members with a sermon podcast, full-featured home pages for each group within the congregation, social networking links.
First Unitarian Society of Newton (MA)
The First Unitarian Society in Newton, a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, is a spiritually nurturing and socially responsive community serving the people of Newton, Massachusetts, and nearby communities. FUSN is using the Welcoming Websites Wizard to welcome visitors and keep its members up-to-date on congregational life.
Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt
Welcoming Websites worked with Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt to develop a more unified look among her two established blogs (RevRose.com and TrusteeTalk.net) and her new blog (NoHomeTraining.org).
As part of this process, we migrated Trustee Talk into Wordpress and installed Wordpress for No Home Training. (Rev Rose was already in Wordpress). With all three blogs then using Wordpress, we produced three different variations of the Hemingway Wordpress theme and installed one on each of McNatt's blogs. The structural similarity between all three variations of Hemingway creates continuity between the three blogs, while the unique color schemes allow each blog to have its own personality.
Mass Bay District
The Massachusetts Bay District is the organization of 55 Unitarian Universalist congregations in the Greater Boston area. For this project, Welcoming Websites migrated MBD's website to Drupal 6, and developed custom functionality to allow the district to post events and manage attendee registration smoothly and easily.
Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association
The Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association (UUMA) provides its members with information and services through its website. Welcoming Websites helped UUMA upgrade these services, integrating its offline membership database with an online, Drupal-managed membership database. The new website also features a variety of content management functions, enabling the organization to keep its members updated with important information and events.
Unitarian Universalist Service Committee
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee is a nonsectarian organization that advances human rights and social justice in the United States and around the world. Welcoming Websites helped UUSC develop a strategy for its website, and implemented this strategy using a variety of standard and custom-developed Drupal modules. This project also included the integration of a new logo and graphical design into the UUSC's web presence, the addition of ecommerce functionality powered by Verisign's Payflow Pro technology, and interactive e-activism powered by Convio.
